Paddling toward the beautiful horizon of a new day.
Maya Angelou People will forget what you said. People may forget what you did. But people will never forget how you made them feel.
What a year was 2020. We just managed our Silverdale Coffee Morning fund raiser in January but Covid pandemic lockdown from March 2020 halted our 2020 season.
2020 was the year of Covid and the March pandemic lockdown put an end to our paddling season. Many members are vulnerable to infection because of their diagnosis and treatment or for other reasons so trustees make the decision to stop paddling sessions even if lockdown is eased. However, there is a socially distanced ‘eye- dotting’ which is streamed for members.

Early in 2021, during social distancing restrictions, we held our Hawaiian Challenge. Founder, Sue Cogley, wanted an outrigger canoe at Windermere. We needed to raise funds to bring a V6 outrigger sourced from GB outrigger in London and equip it. Members did a range of exercise activities to provide ‘miles’ of a journey from Hawaii to our home at Low Wood , Windermere.
We soon reach our fundraising target and go on to 'paddle' the 10791 miles from Hawaii to Windermere. We then go on to do another 17331 miles of exercise and complete a circumnavigation of the world.
