Who we are.

Paddlers for Life Windermere is a registered Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) No. 1200841.

The trustees of the charity ensure that it operates correctly to ensure it meets its purposes and is financially sound. The trustees also work hard to ensure that Paddlers for Life is able to provide regular paddling during the season ensuring provision of boats, equipment, support, drummers and helms to take charge of paddling.

Patrons of the charity promote the charity and support the trustees.

A group of people who had the vision and drive to establish a breast cancer survivor (BCS) dragon boat team on Windermere.

Louisa Balderson

Founder
Louisa paddled in Liverpool and developed the shared vision that led to the formation of Paddlers for Life in 2008. Louisa worked closely with Sue to establish this breast cancer paddler team seeking funding and a location to paddle.

Sue Cogley

Founder
Remembered with much love. Her drive and shared belief in the importance of breast cancer survivor dragon boat paddling made the team what it is. Sue inspired all who paddled with her.

Barbara Daniel

Barbara has been a member of the team from it's early days and is enthusiastic in her support of the team. Barbara steps forward in many ways to promote our activities be it through decorating our boats, drums and heads with flowers and ribbons, fundraising by organising collection boxes or also taking the lead in managing events.

Eve Elliot-Pearson helped with the formation of Paddlers for Life as a close team mate of Louisa and Sue at 'Pool of Life' in Liverpool. Eve has a long association with Paddlers for Life and a deep passion for breast cancer dragon boat paddling.

Jane is the daughter of Sue and Peter and has had a long and close participation with the team activities from the very start. Jane is a capable helm with much experience and has a profound understanding of breast cancer dragon boat paddling and its participatory ethos.

I have been a supporter of Paddlers for Life from the time the charity started paddling on Windermere in 2008. I am an experienced paddler and also take photographs for some of the special events the team participate in. Many of these photographs are used for the charity website which I manage. Proud to paddle with Paddlers for Life and support their activities.
