Paddlers for Life paddled the 10 mile length of Windermere to visit the Fell Foot for All event. Our paddle down on Saturday was mostly in dry and calm conditions. But around mid-day, as we neared Fell Foot, the rain arrived. Even in these wet conditions a few visitors to the event took the opportunity to have a 'try out' paddle with us. A talk from one of our members was very well received.
The team returned to nearby Tower Wood where members shared a lovely meal, staying overnight before returning the next day to our base at Low Wood. About 13 miles covered and then another 7 miles for the return on Sunday.
Huge thanks to everyone, helms, organisers and paddlers with Paddlers for Life Windermere who made this event so successful.❤

❤️wish we could have done this weekend so glad it all went well for you all xx 😘

What a beautiful place to paddle. 😍 xx

We held our 'eye dotting' ceremony as well as a 'flowers on the water' ceremony. After paddling, we finished the day with a 'Thank you' picnic for all who support us.

..what time does everyone meet up on Sunday mornings please?

Go girls

Two members took control of our dragon boats today to further develop their helming skills and experience. It was a cold and blustery session but we enjoyed paddling our dragon boats against a glorious backdrop of fells.

Happy Easter 🐣

Around twenty paddlers entered the pool for our annual pre-season water confidence and safety session at Kendal Leisure Centre pool.

More paddlers participated from the pool side practicing using paddles to help someone out of the water from a jetty fall into shallow water or throw line and rope techniques to aid someone at greater distance and water depth.

We also practiced group support techniques to help fellow paddlers if multiple people are in the water giving reassurance and helping keep fellow paddlers warm.

It is good experience to feel what it is like to be in the water in paddling clothing and buoyancy aid

It's always a valuable learning session and also good fun. Thanks to all the instructors and participants.
