Inaugural Seminar of Paddlers for Life Dragon Boat Team.

The seminar, held at the Low Wood Hotel Conference Suite Windermere, invited cancer survivors, their supporters, health professionals and people working for charitable organisations to meet for this inaugural event at the formation of Paddlers for Life.

Speakers representing many of these groups welcomed the formation of the group which seeks to support cancer survivors through exercise activities in a team setting particularly within the context of dragon boat paddling.
Speakers spoke of the benefits of exercise after a cancer treatment hoping to educate and address myths around the need to avoid strenuous exercise.
Also speaking were supporting organisations some of which had provided seed funding to buy boats and equipment.
