Paddlers for Life Windermere team including two Paddlers for Life Manchester Dragoneers paddlers were practising in training sessions prior to the main event at the 2026 IBCPC Participatory Dragon Boat Festival, France
Many of Paddlers for Life Windermere members and supporters have arrived for the 2026 IBCPC Participatory Dragon Boat Festival, France at Aix-les-Bains. They prepare to familiarise themselves with the paddling location with practice sessions over the next few days before the festival starts on Wednesday. Meanwhile other members had a great paddling session at our home location on Windermere with a circuit of the northern end of the lake.

Paddlers for Life Windermere hosted visitors from HeadwaySouthCumbria to enjoy a dragon boat paddling experience with us. Conditions on Windermere were sunny and relatively calm with gorgeous views and occasional swell from other boats on the water just to make life interesting.

Paddlers for Life Windermere were with Kendal Rotary Club at the Windermere Regatta Dragon Boat event which was raising funds for YMCA Lakeside. Six local teams participated with good humour and enthusiasm in this event which was a first time paddling for some teams. The weather was gorgeous and the event was well organised. Some members, 22 paddlers and supporters, from Paddlers for Life Windermere participated in the Bradford Dragon Boat Festival on Sunday. They had a wonderful day in three race events.
