Helm Training
Dragon boats cannot be paddled without a helm or steersperson. It is essential that teams can draw on a pool of paddlers with helm experience to paddle regularly.
Peter and Sue trained paddlers from Port Edgar Dragons and Manchester Dragoneers as well Paddlers for Life Windermere to become helms for their groups. This was all done with the help of paddling crews and experienced helms from Paddlers for Life.

Paddlers for Life members welcome visitors for helm training. The training took people through safety and health aspects of being a helm and worked on key skills and basic manouvering and control of dragon boats.
