Florence Festival in Italy

The International Breast Cancer Paddlers’ Commission are an umbrella organisation for breast cancer dragon boat paddling internationally.

The IBCPC find a group of paddlers willing to organise an international paddling festival every four years and in 2018 it was in Florence, Italy on the Arno river.

It is a chance for teams to meet fellow breast cancer paddlers from teams across the world.

A team of breast cancer paddlers along with supporter members from Paddlers for Life Windermere joined with paddlers from Worcester Busters to participate in this festival.

Part of the event is a parade of all the teams participating and Paddlers for Life members wanted to be specially dressed for this parade.

In the team village the teams are able to set up a marquee to share memorabilia and meet fellow paddlers while they await their turn to race.
