Paddlers for Life host a visit from University of the Third Age.

U3A members from Kendal visit Paddlers for Life

We had two lots of visitors this morning, First of all six U3A visitors came from Kendal.

Here is Roz giving them their pre-paddle brief ,tuition and buddies for the session .

As usual with our wonderful Roz at the helm of Mary at Low Wood we were in safe hands once again to enjoy an
extended morning paddle we went out first with U3A a crew in total of 16 Paddlers .

We did an hours paddle with Pam on the drum to aid our timing .

Roz coached us through our positioning, posture and paddle technique along with safety on the water which is
always good for us all to re-visit alongside our newbie paddlers.
The water was a balmy 19 degrees today and was calm apart from the wash of other boats and it was good
experience for the newbies to paddle through it and keep going “we all remember our first experiences at
paddling “and it was great to see the smiles and laughter on and off the water.

We then came back in to the pontoon and change crews for the 4 remaining visitors (friends of Janet )who
thoroughly enjoyed the paddling and as always …..
“The smiles say it all “
