October breast cancer awareness, 2019.

October is breast cancer awareness month.

The plan was for a ‘Pink Paddle’ to promote awareness of Paddlers for Life dragon boat team and its mission to support those with a breast cancer or other cancer diagnosis.

Although a bright day, the gusting winds caused cancellation of paddling.

Instead a ‘Flower Ceremony’ for remembrance was held from the jetty instead of from the dragon boats, for fellow paddlers, family and friends often in our thoughts.

Then paddlers gathered for a ‘Pink Tea’ marking the end of the 2019 paddling season.

Paddlers for Life Windermere come to the end of another season of paddling with many more special memories of paddling in a variety of locations and regatta events along with the joy of paddling in our beautiful Windermere location.

So lovely to see everyone yesterday even though the weather was against us to “Paddle in Pink“. We remembered with love the happy times shared, the friendships made, the fun and laughter and the fantastic paddling to the heartbeat of the drum. Those lost to us will never be forgotten and will always be remembered in song and spirit “We miss you lovely ladies but you will always be with us in our dragon boats……… together, always remembered never forgotten.“ Paddles up in Pink !!!
