Resuming paddling.
Safe paddling trial run.
A group of paddlers gathered on Thursday for a trial run of our covid-19 safe procedures for a return to paddling.
Our trustees have carefully planned for a safe return to paddling after over a year has elapsed since our last paddling session due to pandemic measures and lock downs.
Having cancelled the initial sessions due to poor weather the paddlers enjoyed gorgeous sunny and calm conditions.
Newer and less experienced paddlers had a safety session led by John and Chris and more experienced paddlers showed how to dress and move the boat and complete a slipway launch.
Then the safely distanced paddlers were helmed by Chris around Low Wood Bay.
Patricia and Liz ensured covid-19 safety and along with Pam helped newer members fit buoyancy aids.
The careful preparations ensured everything worked well so Sunday’s paddle for more members and sessions looks to flow smoothly.

Absolutely fantastic what a great crew. You have given us all hope and the small steps of moving forward to a new normal of Dragon Boat paddling. Thank you Trustees you are amazing and have done us all proud. xx

Woo hoo! Everyone deserves a well earned accolade acknowledging all the time, energy and enthusiasm it has taken to reach this momentous ‘post Covid’ occasion. The work of the Trustees, so often going on behind the scenes, is spectacular. Supporter and survivor members truly are the essence of what PfL stands for … long may it continue. Looking forward to getting out there. xx
