All Hands on Deck for our 2024 season.

The garage store is tidied, the pontoon re-assembled and the rib is checked over and cleaned.

An eager group of paddlers gathered to help with all these tasks. New members were able to meet other paddlers and become familiar with our Low Wood site.

Roz reminded everyone about our paddling day procedures to dress the dragon boats with head, tail, drum and steering oar. Also, what safety equipment needs to be on board.

Assembling the pontoon and getting it to its location was quite interesting with Windermere levels high covering jetties and the beach and a westerly headwind to complicate things. This required some judicious rope work and use of jetty staging posts.

We can’t wait to start our seventeenth season next week with a wonderful paddling session.
