Thank you to everyone who sponsored me. I am truly grateful that you had belief that I would complete it. That put the pressure on and gave me a huge boost, finishing far quicker than I thought possible 🥰
We never doubted you, Lisa. You're amazing 🤩

A huge 'Thank you' to Carnforth Community Choir who performed in their summer concert and chose Paddlers for Life Windermere as this year's charity. We are really thankful to receive this cheque at our recent Sunday paddle.

A final week of preparation for one of our members swimming five and a quarter miles in the Coniston end-to-end. This is a courageous challenge as the swim must be completed within a specified time span. Lisa is fund raising for our team to support our activities providing life affirming dragon boat paddling sessions for those with a cancer diagnosis. Give Lisa the massive support this challenge deserves. www.justgiving.com/page/lisa-smith-1967 ... See MoreSee Less
I'd love an article for the IBCPC newsletter about this.

We had a lovely walk with Guide over Sands Trust today. The dire warnings of heavy rain and thunderstorms did not materialise so we were walking in warm and calm conditions with occasional light rain. It is inspirational to be in that space. Thank you to all who participated or donated to our fundraiser. We are so grateful for your support.

The link between dragon boating, an activity that started in China over 2,000 years ago, and breast cancer may not be immediately obvious. But pink dragon boat teams made up of people who’ve had…We are at YMCA Lakeside tomorrow (12th. July) for a Kendal Rotary Club dragon boat regatta raising funds for the YMCA. Come and say Hi!, We will be in pink for breast cancer, you can't miss us!

We helped a team with some paddling experience and coaching as they plan to enter the regatta at YMCA Lakeside. We will also have a team there.

We hoped to paddle 10.5 miles the length of Windermere to a community event at Fell Foot NT to provide paddling experiences but our plans were thwarted by forecast of thunderstorms and strong winds for our return paddle on Sunday. Trustees swiftly reorganised for paddlers to have a seven mile paddle to Windermere Jetty Museum and back before driving to Tower Wood for a social Jacob's Join.
