Paddlers for Life first Helm training session.

Paddlers for Life trains its first helms.

 The helm or steersperson steer and control the dragon boat using a large steering oar at the stern of the boat. The helm is responsible for the safety of team and the boat and gives instructions to the team that help to control the boat. There could be no dragon boat paddling without confident and trained helms.

So Paddlers for Life arranged for novice helms to receive training from Four Dragons Limited

A grueling but successful day was had by all. Members of the Low Wood Marina staff and Paddlers for Life received instruction from Barbara, Rob and Frank of

the 4 Dragons Limited. Thanks to their expert tuition and the superb group of members that paddled throughout the day, seven awards of Basic Helm PLS1 were granted.
