Final paddle of the season, ‘Pink Paddle’
Final paddle of the season, ‘Pink Paddle’
This paddling session is usually our ‘Pink Paddle’ to promote breast cancer awareness but ‘Storm Brian’ put a stop to our paddling sending white topped waves from the NW into Low Wood Bay with potentially 40 mph gusts.
However, Low Wood Hotels were kindly hosting a ‘Pink Tea’ so some paddlers assembled in the hotel gallery for refreshments and cream scones.
The dragons had their eyes closed by Maureen, Irene and Lesley to put them to sleep for the winter.
Irene with dragon ‘Mary’
Maureen with dragon ‘Phyllis’.
Lesley with dragon Lucy.
A raffle fundraiser was also drawn with Ruth and Nick doing the honours. There were six excellent prizes thanks to members efforts. All the hard work selling tickets looks to have raised just over £1000 for Paddlers for Life.
