Lucky paddlers.

Tour visiting Brathay, Wray Castle and back via White Cross Bay.

We watched the rain as we warmed up in the garage and checked weather across a drizzly looking Windermere.

However, once we were boarded and off across the water we experienced relatively calm conditions and stayed dry for our 1 hour 30 minute paddle around northern Windermere.

The lake had only a little other water sport activity and the fells looked dramatic as the sun and shadow from clouds exaggerated their profile.

Sometimes taking paddling turns we explored Brathay Bay then headed south past Wray Castle before crossing back to White Cross Bay and returning via Brockhole.

It was a truly beautiful 4.6 mile paddle.
