Our 2025 season ends with a flower ceremony.
Our season ends in October and we prepare our dragons for winter ‘sleep’ by closing their eyes.
Barbara had prepared flowers for the ceremony and Sandra helped with decorating the drum and dragons with help from other paddlers.

We assembled on the beach as paddlers took turns to paint the eyes of our dragons white represaenting a winter ‘sleep’.

Then, our remembrance with flowers. Eve spoke of the importance of this ceremony and how she felt so moved by it. This is a sentiment we can all identify with.

We were all thinking of team members, family and friends each with a flower to remember important people from our lives. We threw our flowers on the waters of Windermere in a ‘flowers on the water’ ceremony.

We gathered again at Ambleside Parish Centre to share lovely food in a Jacob’s Join. A chance to chat with fellow paddlers and reflect on our eighteenth season of wonderful paddling days and special events.
