Visitor session.

We welcomed a group from McDonalds NW to a taster session to experience dragon boat paddling on Windermere. Several members helped with getting the boats ready to go onto the water. Other members drummed, helmed, acted as stroke pairs and supported in the rib.

After a safety brief and warm up the visitors helped with moving and launching the dragon boats. Two full boats went out in calm and dry conditions. The boats circuited northern Windermere to near Wray castle and back across the water to Brockholes and then back to Low Wood.

The visitors had tuition in basic paddling techniques and timing before a ‘best of three’ series of short 150 metre races. It is lovely to be able to show visitors how enjoyable our charity activities are.

The group made a much appreciated and generous donation to our charity that will help us ensure breast cancer dragon boat paddling is available to all diagnosed with and treated for cancer.
